Description Cod. R21

This small attic is located in the ancient Vatican villages of the old Rome, 350 mt. from St. Peter's Basilica, and 200 meters from Castel S. Angelo (Adrian Mole) in an Art Nouveau building of 1923, completely restored. At the Fourth floor with elevetor there is this penthouse of about 45 square meters and equipped with a large terrace of 30 sqm.

The house is pleasantly furnished with rustic wooden furniture, and consists of one room with double bed, sofa French bed, full bathroom with shower and kitchen.

The location is perfect for those who want to stay in the heart of Rome and walk to the most important sites and monuments of Rome. Metro - line "A" - is 400 mt. away, and an important terminus of tram and bus is located at 100 mt.

Area Castel Sant’Angelo

Via della Conciliazione leads to Castel Sant'Angelo, the fortress of the popes built in the Middle Ages on the remains of the tomb of the Emperor Hadrian (II century AD).

Its structure is an example of the continuity between past and present of the urban fabric of Rome, where old buildings are reused and adapted to serve new functions, and thus maintain an active role in the history of the city. The location of the mausoleum of the emperor on the right bank of the Tiber near the Vatican, determined its use as a defensive bastion, connected with the papal palaces by a passageway (the so-called "Corridor") and has a moat surrounded, drawbridges and cannons.
In the past the castle was famous for its terrible dungeons, described by Benvenuto Cellini who made an adventurous escape; It was also a place of executions, as recalled by the opera Tosca, that sees its tragic ending here. Walking through the 58 rooms of the museum of Castel Sant'Angelo allows you to explore its 1800 years of history, and the many terraces offer stunning views of the city.
Do not miss the Bridge of the Angels, with the statues by the Bernini school that in the past announced to pilgrims on their way to the tomb of St. Peter, that the goal was near.
